Editor's note

What this site does

One sentence — "Life depends on soil." — and two videos, with the problem shown before any of the science.

Notes

What you see

The first screen is one line — "Life depends on soil." — and two full-screen videos: The Importance of Soil (2:20) and The Science of Oath Biome (3:37). Nothing else.

The company's own technology arrives after that, framed through food security, water and climate. The navigation has four items: Science & Innovation, Environments, Oath Africa, and Media & Research. Product names are kept out of the foreground.

What to take from it

The order is problem, then technology, then company. Run the other way round — company, technology, applications — and readers leave before they reach the part that tells them which problem is being solved.

Printing the running time of each video (2:20, 3:37) is a small thing that works. People press play more readily when they know in advance what it will cost them.
