Editor's note

What this site does

A Danish upholstered-furniture maker that sells through retailers, so every product page ends in “find a retailer” and “download the product sheet”.

Notes

What you see

A full-screen moving image of fabric with the name and "EST. 1975", and nothing else. There is no shopping cart: the navigation is products, retailers, stories, about and contact.

Each product page lists seven dimensions, notes more than 200 fabrics and leathers and eight leg options, and offers two buttons: "Find retailers" and "Download product sheet". The retailers page lists stockists country by country with addresses and website links. The contact page splits enquiries into becoming a retail partner, product questions, and press, and gives phone hours of Monday to Friday, 10:00–14:00 CET.

What to take from it

A maker that does not sell online still needs every page to lead somewhere. Here customers are sent to a shop where they can sit on the sofa, and designers and dealers to a spec sheet.

Listing stockists by region, and giving trade partners their own address, turns a catalogue site into the start of a sale.
