What this site does
An importer that states its selection criteria — under ten hectares, hand-harvested — before it shows a single producer.

What you see
The first thing on the page is neither a product nor the company, but the criteria. Every producer, it says, farms under ten hectares, harvests by hand, and is seriously trying to make wine that means something. Only then do the regions appear: Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Piedmont, Sardinia, Sicily, Slovenia and Tuscany.
The heading reads "A HISTORY OF THE FUTURE". Each producer gets a one-line descriptor alongside the name — CANTINA MAUGERI — THE GREAT WHITES OF ETNA, for instance. There are two paths through the site: PRODUCERS and DISTRIBUTORS.
What to take from it
The more a distributor carries, the stronger the pull to claim it carries everything. This site does the opposite and decides first what it will not stock. A short list then comes with a reason to choose it.
Splitting the site into a producer path and a trade path is practical too. A B2B site has more than one kind of reader, and separating the entry points by who someone is raises the quality of the enquiries that arrive.
